Another example of why you should wear a life jacket all the time!

The man that lost his life was in his early 40's and a local fisherman. news is reporting he hit a stump and a channel marker. The driver of the boat had minor injuries. Bad deal that happens way to often on Barnett.

It's a bad deal for sure. From what I'm hearing they hit a stump close to the river channel causing the boat to veer into the channel marker. He was the passenger witch is where the damage is on the boat. In the horseshoe area there is a big turn in the river channel so most of the fishermen take the short cut don't know if they were doing this or not. One thing bout the B nett is there is more than enough stumps!! I say run the channel & slow down outside the channel. You never know. Wear PFD!!!

Last time I was over that way I saw a big log sticking up about 20' out in the channel not far from a channel marker. It had been washed in by higher water earlier this year. I wonder if that is where it happened? Prayers to the family.

I talked to 2 people last night that said the same thing. Said you can't see it now that the lake is at summer pool. One of them hit it Wednesday morning and did 6000.00 in damage to his boat

That's where I hit a channel marker last week at 35mph. Barely skimmed it cause I couldn't see around my seats in that curve. I take my front seats down when running now. WAY to close a call for me!!!!!!' Prayers Sent for Mr. Puckets family.
