Default A day at Central Park

I took a ride to Central Park in Southaven and took a few pics.Great place to carry your young kids and have some outdoor fun.Three young men netted a carp that had to have weighed at least 25lbs.This fellow caught a bass on a plastic worm while I was talking to him. I caught at least 100 small bream on a Johnson beetle. The 2 lakes are loaded with cats, bass, bream , and crappie, and I guess carp.I caught a bass in there last spring that weighed 8 lbs. I put her back in for someone else to catch! Those small bream are why there are large bass and cats in these lakes.

I like those ponds. Sometimes take my boy out there in the early mornings in summer for some top water green carp action.

One of the local residents I talked to said he talked to the Park Commission about putting a small boat in there and they said it was alright as long as as there is no motor of any kind. Paddle only!Another guy said the police have run everybody they have seen in a boat off the lake. I'm gonna see if I can get it in writing from the Park Commission.Would love to fish the standing timber out in the middle of that largest pond! The man with the bass swears that he has caught 3 cats over 24lbs. out of the lakes on live perch!
