That grey american angler is a good knife. I never owned a blue one so I cannot say how much better it is. I have owned 5 other brands before the american angler and all of them were crap compared to it. Mine has cleaned anywhere from 1200 to 1500 fish so far on the same set of blades. Mine gets hot after about 20 fish but I just keep on going. It has not burned up yet and I have pushed it a few times to 80 fish. I think u have the best knife out there right now so I would not go out and buy some more thinking you will find something better.

I have one of the American Angler blue ones like yours. It is prolly 15 years old or older. Still works like a top, but needs a sharpening as well. Gonna get one of those sharpeners........

I just got my second AA knife. Mine gets hot after 25 or so fish. Try the shark blades. They won't gum up.

I've heard that you can get some emory cloth and fold it double. Place it between your blades, put them in your knife and turn it on. Move the sand paper up and down the blades while its running.

Have one and like you said it gets hot after about 10 or so fish but still works
