    Default I-Pilot Question

I have seen yall mention I-Pilot in a lot of threads and I have a good idea of what it is but not a full understanding. Can someone explain? I guess my question is this I have seen pictures of boats that have them installed and I never see a foot control. I can imagine not using a footcontroll on a trolling motor.
Also I have seen people talking about setting up two way points and the motor trolling back and forth on those points. Does it constantly move or just every now and then a little bump to keep you moving.

I guess it is just over my head but I don't understand little things like what if a boat is coming along the same path you are. How do guide it around them. I guess I need to just go with someone that has one to observe it. I bet it would be nice for fishing creek and river channels in open water but bothersome when your up against the bank during the spawn.

I sure wish I could but we are about to have our 3rd child on Monday or Tuesday and I am having to stick really close to my bride for a while.

Congrats on the new addition Brian.
Once you get used to the ipilot, you can't hardly do without it. On the Terrova, you can use both the remote and the foot petal. I use the advanced auto pilot all the time. It keeps your trolling motor pointed towards a compass reading or into the wind so it keeps your boat straight.

All depends on what kinda fishing you're doing.. For spider rigging or longlining they're a must have. I just recently switched over to one and wondered why I didn't do it a long time ago.
    For jig'n stumps/timber... Cable

If you are trolling they cant be beat, more so pulling cranks for me than slo trolling. Have never had my foot pedal conected but have it in the box in case I need it. Speed lock is awesome when pulling cranks or longlining and like ScottV I run mine on Advanced Auto Pilot 99% of the time.
