I hooked that thing one day when I was green carp fishing, I thought it was a log. It kinda pee'd him off!

LOL. Funny you would mention Big Al. Every year in April when would would go the birds to catch bream, we would put the boat in right there where she had her babies(in that cove on the dam). We never had any problem with her unless my somewhat chubby older brother was in the boat. Our boat was 14' long and I remember one particular time that she came up to the boat when he was in the back of the boat running the trolling motor to get us to the bird nesting. Big Al came up to the boat and raised up out of the water(I'm not lying) and opened her mouth and made the loudest, prehistoric HISS I have ever heard. My clumbsy brother tried to kick the hand held trolling motor into high gear and he some how knocked the clamps off the battery and we were just floating with huge alligator Sreaming at us! Looking back it is hilarious but you want to talk about scared to death.
And then to make it better when we got in the bushes we had like 10 alligators in there with us patroling waiting for one of the baby birds to fall in the water. I have watched countless birds get eaten by gators while we were in there.
I would love to do that again.
y'all keep that gator we got enough down here already . You shop at Bennett's ? that is a big ole fish .
Yes thump at Bennetts. And Donnie you are correct about the Gators, there are some hugeeeeeeeee gators in that lake. Had a real hard winter about 7 or 8 yrs ago and some of them died off. And I think one of them was 14 foot and some change. And I see nuts wading up there alot???? Not me bro!!!!!!!
I can't think of that older man there is he the one that caught it ? where I work has done business with Wally and his daddy for years . it use to be Winston co bldg sply . I think Walley changed it to Bennett's .
You are correct thump, he changed the name after he took over. The older gent you speak of no longer works there, this fellow that caught the fish just started there about 5 months or so ago. The older guy was one of the hardest working men I ever met in my life. He worked on that yard loading drywall and lumber and everything else until he was about 75 or so, dardest thing I ever seen, he could outwork alot of the younger ones that were down there for sure.
