I was doing good with part time lawn service until someone reported pay outs on their income tax for lawn service to me. That cost me $200. more than I made caring for their lawn.
My son is clearing land to build on. He saw a craiglists ad. I wonder if these three will report this as income since it will be part of his loan?

How many of you can say you bring as much revenue into Mississippi as Feelay does? Most clients stay from 2 to 4 days. That's several days of motel, cabins or campground fees. Several meals while they are here. And any adult beverages and night time entertainment. Hell, he's a one man tourist attraction. I'll wager that he brings much more revenue into the state than what he "pads" his wallet by using the state lakes. I'll also wager that none of you bashers pull in tourism dollars. Am I wrong?
    Waiting for it!
Well here it is! The last time I looked at the boat ramp at a COE lake their were more out of state tags than locals, now I know Feelay is good but I don't think he is single handedly responsible for that entire crowd. They know about the place and are coming by the droves guide or no guide. As far as out of state money goes I bring in quiet a bit myself, and it is all reported and accounted for. BTW, the lakes we are talking about are federal COE lakes and not state lakes, so everybody who pays taxes has a dog in this hunt.

Geez we are all fisherman and we all pay taxes some sort of way. Feelay I see nothing wrong with guiding and people paying you cash or check and nobody else should care to be in your business either bc it's your business so keep fishing and making happy clients.

What if you were from Kentucky and booked a cash only trip with a guide who turned out to be a moron and got you or your loved one injured or worse. Now before anyone gets bent out of shape, i know Feelay should not fall in this category but their are some out there that may. What recourse would you have? If guides were regulated in some way, they and there customers would be protected and the only way to accomplish this is to make them get legit.

Now Feesh, no one would even try to say that Feelay was responsible for all those out of state boat trailers. If a fella drags his boat down here, why would he need a guide? I know some folks bring their boats and hire a guide the first day. He is responsible for bringing a whole lot of revenue in that wouldn't otherwise be here. Folks, many of them repeat clients, that come here and will only fish with him. Says a lot for him. Since you didn't mention any of the other guides, it appears that Carl is the one you have a problem with. Why? He obeys the laws. Are you inferring that Feelay and the other guides don't report and account for their income?

Folks pay good money to go to school and learn things. So paying someone to learn how to catch crappie is actually pretty cheap and a lot more fun. Everyone has the same opportunity to guide if you want. So get you sum. Never will understand why folks worry so much about others. Some folks think everyone should think the way they think but this is a big old world I'm glad everyone is not the same . How boring would that be? One word comes to my mind BITTERNESS. Life is short. Just go fishing. It can all end in a split second!
Biggest crappie to date is 3 lb 9 oz at grenada in 1988. Still hangs on my wall.

Jigflinger, I got nothing personaly against Feelay. Only met him once and that was only briefly, he seemed okay. He just was on here bragging about his income from our public waters and I let him and any other guide know how I felt about it. I'm not trying to prevent them from guiding. I just think it needs to be regulated better. He got his panties in a wad so I can only assume I hit close to home with my remarks. Guiding is a tough job, if I were in that line of work I would want the playing field as level as possible. Regulation weeds out the riff-raff.

I think the big debate here is reporting income.
You buy an item and pay tax, years later you sell it. Did you collect tax on the sell? Did you report this sell?
You pay for a service, provide a service. Was tax collected or paid? Were license and permits in place?
