I was cleaning some fish from the main lake at Butla this evening when I noticed something odd in a fillet. The crappie was a healthy looking 14 inch male. I noticed a dark spot approximately an inch long in the middle of one of the fillets. I cut into the fillet and removed a dark brown hard piece of something about an inch long and the diameter of an earthworm. The object resembled that of a dried up earthworm that you might find in your driveway after a rain followed by sun. I kept that fish's fillets and the object bagged seperate from the rest of the catch. I have cleaned a lot of crappie from Arkabutla and Sardis but never seen such a thing. Anybody have any ideas besides that Butla fish have worms .....![]()
