    I have not looked at mine....unsure of how much slack there is. I have not had a need for the ring....I have never had any interferrance but I do know that a lot of folks have it. But reading your instructions....thats how it reads to me. You might check with HumminbirdGreg over on the electronic board. He can tell you for sure.

    Take the head cap of TM and mess the the clamp holding the us2 cable
    U should be able to get enough slack

    Yeah i have it posted over there.. He wants me to post a pic of the ring when i get it.. Not sure why that matters, but oh well..

    On my terrova, the us2 cable comes out of the head right at the coiled up cable and runs down thru the coiled cable and out of it right at the end where it goes into the base. I have at least 6 feet of us2 cable at that point, plenty to coil 8 times in the ring. There is no need to take the cap off the top, there was no slack in mine when I took it off the other day. The adapter cable is only about 14-16 inches long, not to be used to coil anyway..

    I just went and looked again.. You are right.. I didnt look close enough the fisrt time.. There does seem to be a bunch coiled up in the lower sectio of the main "coiled" line on tm.. Thanks for the help!!
