I ask that pole limit's not be involved, even though that's not how I fish I'm kinda sideing with yall on this.My ? was if this is what they(MWFP) are useing to lower pole # could't the ones going to the meeting have so back up way's to do this other than pole restrictions.Yes you guy's from out state pay taxes for the big 4 but you would pay the same if there were no fish or if they made it no fishing at all your paying for flood control not a fishery. The only money going to the resource in this case fish is your license money the corp get's your tax $$ and your boat ramp fee which with the shape of the ramps on Grenada should be done away with.I'm not a bioligest but I do manage small private lake and I have common sense on what pressure can do if this is a problem they can prove with data.I know the folks in charge are apointed but the ones who appoint them are elected. The reason I ask for MS. people was because this is a MS. resource and I don't try to get other states to make law's to accomadate me I go by what their elected folk's think is best for their people and their resources.I used the example of trouphy deer hunting in another post and was told it was compareing apples to oranges but it's really not.The trouphy deer hunting states have seen they have something that people are willing to spend big money on and found way to protect it and make money at the same time.Crappie seem to be no differant people don't come to the big 4 to catch a limit they come to catch a trouphy crappie so why not find away to protect it and make $$ at the same time. The effect of pressure might not be seen right now but look to the future and quit living in the moment thing's are good now but that can change. The reason I think pressure will hurt is because Grenada recieved very little pressure up until 5-10yrs ago fish had time to get big.Grenada was lucky it was kinda a forgotten lake to far North for the Jackson and South folks and alittle to far South for the Memphis folks with the other 3 closer to them.It got little pressure even during the spawn then baisicly no pressure the rest of the yr now it has lot's of pressure yr round.

I'm sorry, Gravedigger. I just can't see where you are going with this. You keep saying 5-10 years ago. Or used to be. This is 2013, my friend. If the population was what it was then there wouldn't be nearly as many folks around you probably wouldn't have anything to champion. As far as license fees being the only revenue generated for MDWFP, that isn't true. We, and you, pay a 10% excise tax on every rod, reel, spool of line, jig, sinker, hook, bobber that is purchased. This excise tax is rendered to the Federal Government under the Dingell-Johnson Act. These funds are turned back to the states to support fisheries programs. The same is true for hunters under the Pitman-Robertson Act. So you see we do support more that just the flood control of these resevoirs. You keep saying that Mississippi has the lowest licenses fees around. Once again, not true. Just for fishing licenses, Mississippi has the highest cost of the states of MS, AL, TN, KY, MO and AR. We are talking fishing here. But with hunting thrown in Mississippi is only surpassed by Missouri in the cost of liscense. I am, of course, referring to Non-Residents.

Using YOUR logic....I paid over $50 for an annual NR License, YOU didn't pay that much. So according to you, wouldn't that "entitle" me to more fish that you? I mean, after all, I contributed more than you did. Right? Do you voluntarily contribute extra money to these Lakes? How much? I mean, from the concern you attempt to express in your posts, I would expect you would be donating handfuls of money.

You state you're not a biologist, but then go ahead and make a statement on fishing pressure. What are you basing it on since you aren't a biologist? "Common sense" makes you neither educated nor knowledgeable on the subject.

Oh, and other States Game Laws already accommodate YOU, and anyone else who can legally buy a License and participate in any sport. Please explain what MS is doing that every other State isn't?

Triton is in to sumpn there. I say close Grenada to all but me and Feelay. That way when Feelay can tell me where to go fish and I can ACTUALLY catch a limit, the pressure issue will have been resolved and y'all can come back fishing...on a limited basis.

Raise the out of state license fee to make it less attractive to non-residents. Problem solved. Last time I fished Grenada I could walk across the lake on boats from MO and IL.
