    Default Striper Question

does Sardis lake have Striper in it? and what lake close to Sardis have the best population of Striper. my reason for asking is, I'm coming to Sardis to Crappie fish for a few days, and if the wind is up during the day. sometimes the wind settles down at night, so I thought I may do some striper fishing at night. here in Ky, April is when the shad spawn, and at night the shad move in close to shore to spawn and the Striper and Walleye move in close to shore to feed on the shad. this makes for some of the best fishing of the year around this area.

If the water level on the lower lake is high the searuns can get over the weir. I've seen a few caught below the weir.
How to get to the weir: From the Dam Store you'll cross a bridge. The gravel road is on the right to the weir. This is before the left split to the cabins.
Most stripe fishing is done at the boils of Pickwick, TN lic. needed. That I know of.

Waterdog the answer to your question is no on Sardis. Pickwick reservoir or Ross Barnett reservoir are closest to fish for Stripers like you are asking about.
