Looking to get a couple chains. Looked at 1/2 inch 10 ft length that was 28 lbs....half that would be 14 lbs per 5 ft length....is that right and is that heavy enough? Thought they need to be heavier than that. Thanks.

mine aint near that heavy, 2 25 foot ropes, clasps, and 4 5 foot chains only wiegh 22 pounds in a Dewalt carrying case. I only drag 2 5 foot sections most of the time and add the other 2 to the end if I need them. If these wont hold my boat then i aint safe to be out there.

I got 2 pieces 6 ft of 3/8 for my 16 ft tin boat with 50 ft of 3/8 rope. Gonna use 25 ft on each chain
