My son wanted the difference pole from BnM for his birthday for jigging and casting since it has spinning eyes. Ordered it and it came in Friday. We went and tried it out yesterday afternoon and caught a couple. It felt much better then my wizard it made me want a newer lighter pole.

NEW! Sam Heaton SS with Bottom Seat & Touch System

It’s hard to improve on one of the most popular crappie poles on the market today, but we did it anyway! This is truly one of the finest jig poles out there…made of 40-million modulus IM6 graphite, these poles are tough, yet still the possess the great sensitivity our customers have enjoyed from this series for many years.

I love Sam heatons, but me personally... rear seat is not for the man that jigs stumps and timber. Just can't stretch out when you need to with them. My 2 cents

I think around $50 or so. I ended up buying an ozark instead but have been considering getting a Sam Heaton as well.

I have two Sam Heaton's and they are good jig poles. I've used the regular reel seat ones ever since they came out. I recently got one of the Ozark rear reel seat models, and I'll never go back. The rear reel seat model seems to have better balance to me, and the Ozark has the titanium tip making it very sensitive.

Bottom line is that I like both of these rods. Wish I had a rear reel seat Heaton to compare the Ozark to.

Jigging is what I like about the rear seat . .When the bite is light I put the line between fingers . Would say the touch opening is of little value ,but I like the 11 ft. and love the 12 ft .
To me the added length adds a little feel to the jig .I used the custom b/m for yrs and tried the middle seat heaton and liked the rod but not the handle . thought if they had a rear seat and a cork handle they would have the perfect rod . b/m are some smart folks !
