I ain't good enough to be tourney fishing anywhere really. Just been fishing the MCC, and it's hard to travel that far over and over.

None of my business, I just read what all you gewbs have to say, but I think the whole point has been missed. A fruit jar tourney is just that: a bunch of guys get together, throw a few bucks in a FRUIT JAR and go fishing. Whoever catches the most fish wins!! Tournament directors, weigh masters, lake masters, boards of directors, by laws, etc. goes way beyond a so called friut jar tournament. You will always, always, always, have problems when you get that fancy. The way I see it: Use the KISS Method (Keep It Simple Stupid) or either go all out. Seems like option 2 is what's happening here.

Only thing is, the fruit jar by KISS method works well when you have 5-10 people, and all people fishing basically are Tour. Dir., Weigh Master, Lake Master, Bylaws, and Board of Dir. The thing is, when you get to this many teams fishing it, it requires more work. And as we all know, not everybody is going to be happy with everything. Its the facts of life, and expressing your concerns or dislikes helps mold the club for the future. But from what I have seen the folks making the tough decisions are doing what they think is best and doing a good job of it. I know I wouldn't want to have to make their calls. When a problem does arise, they do their best to address it quickly and as fair as possible, which I think has been done here. If you don't want any controversy, don't tournament fish.

Your last statement hits the nail on the head. Years ago a bunch of my buds started out having trash fish friut jar tournaments. Every thing went good for a while. Then somebody wanted some rules, then somebody else and so on. Before we knew it, everybody was squabbling and arguing. The bigger we got and the more the prize money was available ,the poop really hit the fan. I got so sick of it, I stepped down as prez, next season quit all together. Most of the other guys did too. I just hate to see something that is so enjoyable turn into something everybody dreads. Been there, done that...and now I'm a ?&$@!ing Slab Slinger. Good Lord. What's the world coming to?

I guess the tournament concept has never bothered me because I've never had a shot at winning
