    Default Possibly trading trucks

I'm looking at a 2005 Toyota SR5, 4 door, 2-whd. Will this thing pull my 20' stratos with out any problems? If anyone has any experience with one let me know. BTW, I would rather sell my truck instead of trade, it's a 2004 f250 4x4, V10. It only has 80k on it and is in excellent shape. Will take whatever blue book value is, if I make a deal on the Toyota.

Feesh, my neighbors son has one with the v6 crew cab. He has pulled his dads 17 Fischer V hull aluminum and it was all that truck wanted. Fuel milage goes to nothing pulling a boat. The main thing you have to worry about with them lighter trucks is you can't stop them with a heavy load. It will have a tendency to lift the rear and lose traction on rear wheels in a hard stop. If I could I sure would do a test drive with boat hooked up before I made my decision.

Personally.....I think you need a full size truck.

Seen many a toyota pull a big boat, but it will be a BIG change from that V10. It will pull it, just don't race nobody with the boat behind ya. As far as launching, the big 4 should be ok, but I know some of the oxbow ramps are tough for a 2wd. A bigger heavier truck will almost always pull better, but it oughta roll it down the road

Gonna be had pressed to find one that is gonna do what Big Red has been doing. With the size feesh you been catching you got to be concerned about the tip home as well.
