He had a bunch of handmade cranks hanging in a glass case that you could buy back in that far left hand corner in sporting goods. I bought my first ever HOG Rustler rod from there and a Remington 760 pump action left hand 30/06 from there! I loved that store!

I could go in Surplus city and spend hours just rooting through all the stuff they had. Best store ever for fishermen. Saw him, Jimmy Houston and some others in there. Him and Jimmy used to be at the old Freds on Getwell back in the day also.

I have a lot of respect for Bill Dance. My boys are grown now and have kids of their own. When they were around 10 years old we saw him Catfishing on the Mississippi River on tv. A little while later he was at the Boat and Sports Show in Memphis. My boys wanted to meet him. I told them ok just don't interupt him while he was B.S.ing with a group of celebrities and friends. The boys stood off to the side waiting to speak with him. He noticed them and stopped his B.S.ing and started talking to the kids. He took time to tell them when, where he launched his boat and everything concerning his fishing trip. I was really impressed by him taking so much time from his circle of friends and talking to my boys. In my book he is a Good Guy.
