    Default Black crappie

i was just looking back at my fish pics from Oct 2011 thru this year. In 2011 I wasn't catching many crappie at all but just about every trip I caught a good size black crappie. In 2012 and so far this year I have caught a ton more crappie but not a single black crappie? Just seems kinda weird

Blacks are shallower usually. They spawn about 10 degrees cooler than the whites, so I've been told.

interesting on both--before I was fishing differently but catching the black crappie very deep around no cover (the bowl at Sardis) I guess I just can't turn my mind off tonight

Yep you were drift fishing, but Bills response is spot on too. Stanger things have happened, DD saw a BIGFEET and Ole Miss got the number one recruit in the nation.

I've always heard that black crappie tend to stay around cover year round. They don't move around the lake following shad like the whites do.

The bowl? Never heard that one before. Where is the bowl?

Some of the few blacks I have caught at Sardis biggest have always been in the middle of the lake and in the fall.
