Well Butla is on it's way down in a hurry. Dropped 2 ft. in 3 days. I think the corps is looking at the possibility of rain next week and needs to drop it fast. I took a few pics of the spillway and the Third ditch.I also made a video of the spillway. Elbow Creek was elbow to elbow. Water probably packing the shad up in there.Did not see anyone catching anything. I pitched a few different colored jigs at the Third Ditch but didn't get a bite. Sure would love to have a small john boat to slip in there. Water is just inside it's banks.I went down the access road on the way to Coldwater and tried to take a pic of the Eagles nest I saw off in the distance. You will have to zoom to even see it.Another truck pulled up and he was watching them with some binocs.Had a mosquito try to bite me in the face. They out already!I'm still working on getting the video to play!

Thanks for the pictures and report. Where can you put in on the ditch? I am not familiar with the tail waters at all.
Nice pics.

Right now you can get up in the third ditch easy from main lake. I would put in a pleasant hill boat ramp if i was headed to third ditch. By the way Ryan sounds like an idea

Wow! Wished our lakes had that much water. We're still down 12'.![]()
There's a ramp on the south side just past Elbow creek. The third ditch is Hickuhala Creek back towards Coldwater on 302hwy.Coming from Arkabutla on the south side there is a turn off to your right just before you cross the first bridge. Follw that gravel road till it ends in the water! Some great fishing in there when it gets right.
