The size limit was 10" for decades, and it didn't hurt. The real pressure is on the bigger fish now!!! People will catch their limit sooner with the 10" size limit, and go home. The 12" rule has only been in effect for 6-8 yrs, and the economy around Sardis has suffered, especially during the summer months, when most business' earn the bulk of their annual income. There used to be 4-5 good bait shops around the lake, now there is only 2, and one of those has very limited services. Hearns is gone, and so is the place where 315 splits, between Sardis and the Dam Store. That was a good place with lots of parking too!!! There used to be a bait shop where the motorcycle club is right before the Dam Store also. Without the summer time revenues, they have all had to shut down.

Give it a chance, if ya don't want to keep fish less than 12", then throw em back!!!!! JMHO
