    Jig,
I think the Grandpappy has a dial for temp kinda like a lectric frying pan. Still think I want one, but the FD is cool, just plug in and cook.
I got to thinking about steaming the oysters in the pot and darned if I didn't find a picture of it.

We were camped in Mt. Ranier National Park. It was between Mt St Helens and Ranier, both active voclano sites. I called our campground "The valley of the shawdow of death".

Amazon has the GranPappy for less than $40 delivered (probably about the same at SprawlMart)

Amazon.com: Presto 05411 GranPappy Electric Deep Fryer: Kitchen & Dining

I think it's showing the pic of the smaller one, like I got, and gives dimensions close to the one I got. But down lower on the page says it's about 2" wider and taller than the one I got.

    GranPappy Elite:

Amazon.com: Presto Gran Pappy Elite Electric Deep Fryer: Kitchen & Dining

There's also a DualDaddy that has a divider in the middle:

Amazon.com: Presto 05450 DualDaddy Electric Deep Fryer: Kitchen & Dining

Thanks, Bill, but I've had about all I can take of this looney bin for one trip. As soon as I get this door re-hung, I'm gonna escape back across the river for a few days of R&R. Catch you on the flip side.
