Hve done a ton of reading, the COE lakes help keep the flow down during flood sitution but as far as keeping it flowing in low water situations they make very little difference. Was told by one of their engineers this past summer that they could have opened all 4 of em wide open during the low water situation this summer and it would have made vertilly no diffeence in the water levels downsteam in the MS river. They are flood control not help for the MS in drought situations.
