Hoping to stick around until maybe early March? Dad will be headed back (from Florida) shortly after, and it'll take me a while to get settled back in (and fight-off the depression of being back there), but I'll be anxious to see him again. Plus I've got some "projects" that I'll need to tend to (trailer repair being a big one), and need to figure-out something I can get that's a bit more user-friendly than this kayak. Wished I were able to come back in spring, but financially unable to. If I did, it would cut my Winter next year short.

Get you a 1448 Jon with a 25 and you can fish anywhere except in big wind. U can pick em up cheap down here - 1,000-1,500 and I you have the budget of 3-6k you can get a nice deck layout on the front that will put you in high cotton. Easy to tow, economical on fuel, stable and all anybody really needs.

A lot like the old Wannabe... except with fewer bad words. And Karate chop action. But, yes, still purtier than you.

Neon you need to look at building a rack on top of your trailer with a crankup system to pull a boat onto the rack for hauling. Find a 10ft Pelican boat. You could build a breakdown transport system that would fit in trailer. Very stable boat, can use small gas motor or large troller for power. Easy one man handling.

No way to trailer and launch, trust me I've kicked-around all sorts of options/ideas. I've got a Pelican in IN, just too much for me to handle, that's why I'd went to the kayak half the weight.

Bill....you gonna pick me up and take me out every time I wanna fish? Like a Lake Valet Service

I've told others, I ain't gonna wish too hard. They'll come a day I'll be down here more than just the winter, but not while I'm still able to spend time with my Dad. While I'd like to have a boat, it's really not that big an issue to me, looking at the big picture.
