What spring rains we got this year were before summer pool dates. So the lakes didn't get to raise/rise much.
The lakes have been low all year. When the winter pool dates came up, the COE dumped the lakes.

They sure seem to screw up alot of fishing area. Glad we don't have that problem around here.

It is what it is, you have to learn the big 4 at different times of the year and at different levels. My favorite place to fish never saw water this year and I have seen it when the water was 20 feet deep there. Some gripe but its in vein, learn the curve and learn to live with it or you just stay frustrated all the time.

You have to sit back and think if drawing the big four down so much has something to do with the size of their crappie.

Well they dont over-populate due to so many going out the spillway, the colder the winter the more that will go out of Grenada. Not sure about the others, the way the spillway house is at Sardis not sure if they go out of it as bad during low water conditions.

I think when the water is low.....all the grass and buck brush and stuff that comes up and grows provides a good fishery for bait fish when the water comes back up. It takes lots of baitfish to grow big crappie.
