Bill I have a question for you. Why doesn't Minn Kota have a better mount so that half of the base isn't hanging over the front edge of the boat. Just don't look right to me. How many bolts actually hold that trolling motor on and what pound thrust is it?Seems like you would get some twist if you had the motor turned to the side even on lower speeds that would shake the mounting bolts loose!I'm Terrova igernant just was wondering. A awesome looking boat though!

If you ever fished in a boat with one, you would understand. Terrova is a completely different type motor than the cable steers.

The motor must hang over to allow room for the steering mechanism to fall forward without hitting the bow when you deploy the TM. They do make, or used to make, a sliding bracket that allows you to slide the motor back into the boat during transport and launching or loading the boat. .

Gonna just putt around for a few hours. Ain't worried about the wind in this one, but I'll danged sure be safe. Cold and water don't mix very well, if ya get thrown overboard or make a pilot error.
