Oh I didn't take no offense of it BAMA, it's just hard to feel sorry for someone who chooses to live like that. Hard times is one thing, living like in filth is another.

It has always amazed me that folks got kids doing with out but they always seem to have their drinks and cigirettes. And I agree with you grew up dirt poor but we was clean if nothing else.

Prolly hid the crack pipe!!! That's a shame for folks to make their kids live like that. That's why kids these days turn out like they do. It really is a shame!!!

True Bill, but that girl who drug them kids out in the cold was old-enough to know better, and old-enough to know how to keep things clean. Somewhere down the line someone has to break the mold.

Some kids were never taught how to be clean. You usually do as you're raised. They Actually think that's the way it's supposed to be, cuz that's all they've ever known.

That wasn't my intent when I mentioned it. I don't necessarily buy-into the "that's how they were raised" thing though. I mean, to an extent, that may be true, but at some point people need to take responsibility for their own lives. I'm sure they've been in "clean" houses (or campers), and I don't imagine they thought "gee, these guys are weird, look how clean their house is".

Sure, kids (as in youngsters not quite yet responsible for themselves) can leave a mess, toys, clothes, etc., but someone needs to be mature enough not to want to wade-through junk on the floor, or not so lazy they'd just rather leave-it. No, it's not inherited...it's flat-out laziness.

I agree cleanliness isn't inherited, but it is a learned trait. I also agree that you can teach yourself if you have the right motivation to be better than you were taught.

The small kids are stuck with what hand they're dealt, but the parents need their butts kicked!! That IS laziness. Alcohol and drugs can make ya that way!!!!
