    Mine were hatched the first week of August. I figured I wouldn't see an egg till after NewYears.

    Bill, the yolks are darker and to me the brown eggs have more taste. I think a lot of it is the varied diet and the fact that farm chickens live a more natural life. Commercial egg houses simulate daylight at night to increase laying. Happy chicks may not put out as often but when they do, it's better. Lol

    Ain't got no rooster any more. He was pulling their feathers out faster than I could tie jigs.
