Actually, 2 crappie boats in old river parking lot this am. Both anchored and catfishing in the mouth if the river.

    It hasn't really started yet.

Dont know Cray, in all that wind yesterday them stupid pelicans were just out from the spillway house eaating shad, where there is shad there should be crappie. That said the colder it gets the better it is.

It works great if you absolutely know the folks around you. If one of the folks that can see you is a plainclothed warden, it doesn't work so well!

I may be misreading your post, but only two single hooks/jigs are legal now for snagging. A treble hook or single hooks larger than no.2 will get you a ticket on the COE spillways.

Honestly, for as little as they care for the fishery below the gate houses, they might as well let you use throw nets. Since the first year they allowed it, bout the only time you see em is when it's really hot and they check for numbers. That's about it though.

I wasnt sure Pops, things have changed then. Used to we could use a treble during snagging season, I think. Never did tho, always soddered 2 aberdeens back to back, didnt get hung as bad. Havent been in a while but who knows might turn over a new leaf and try it again.
