Thanks man--glad to here that. The way the doc explained it to Melissa was that his heart was doing something that blocked off an artery to the lungs which built up the fluid--I akin it to congestive heart failure-but he said that he has had some dogs live for YEARS taking the lasix and bp medicine. I really hope it does work. Thanks again guys--we really appreciate it.

It's tough, I've had dachsunds since the 50's when I was in kindergarden. I have two at the house now. I hope everything works out OK.

Thanks again guys. He made it through the night. I got him to drink some ensure last night and we got his medicine down this morning but he through up about 30 minutes later--I think he might just have gas

They are something special. Oscar is 13 and Sophie is 10. Both have had to have back surgery a few years ago due to blown disc and went paralyzed but the surgery fixed it. Oscar was poisoned when he was a pup and made it through that as well. Oscar has a real personality that's for sure.
