Been meaning to ask, keep forgetting....
I'd bought the tools, and rock (Obsidian) a couple years ago to learn how to do it, bought a DVD as well, and watched lots of YT Videos, but would like to find someone with some experience at it to watch them do it. I'm not wanting to turn $50 of rock into a pile of dust
Anyone do it, or know someone who does?

One of the many sub boards on The Georgia Outdoor Network Forum is primitve skills. You can see some beautiful knapping there. Be careful as Obsidian is 700 times sharper then surgical steel.
I'm aware of all the precautions, but appreciate it. lol, I don't wanna "look" I wanna "do". I joined a site a couple years ago (Paleo Planet) but looking at pics and videos just ain't the same as watching someone do it.
canebreaker, heck back when you was in Scouts, arrowheads were probably the most modern weapon there was![]()

I've been watching Paleo planet a couple of years as well. Knapping is a skill I would love to learn. I have been a field walker archeologist since I was a kid with my Dad.
Well get on the ball Trey and learn how....so you can teach me![]()
I see some stuff guys make that's unbelievable.
ETA: Paleo Planet has a Forum on the internet, and I think you're talking about the TV Show (don't know if they're associated or not)? Check-out the Forum sometime.
