Rees Guide, those flare guns were the ticket before cell phones were common and portable. I used to keep one in my boat at all times. I even had to use it once. We were running trot lines one night on the river down around the Sipsey river and my boat broke down. My buddy had his boat but he wasn't sure where we had went. We had started paddling out of the slough we were in, but it was a slow go. After about 3 hours and watchin him ride within about 300-400 yards from us and not being able to here us, I fired one off and he immediately saw us. I kept one in my boat up until a few years ago. They are handy. They make pretty fire works too.

Naw, just need idiots to use their heads, aint gonna happen and I left the flare gun put away. A yankee boat with the nose in the air running about 10mph pushes one h@## of a wave, did this about thee diffeent times...

Better stay away from Ky Lake where I fish. We got barges, cabin cruisers, power boats and any other kind of wave makers you could hope for. We either get use to it up there or find another hobby.
