I bought drift socks at Cabelas for 12.50 in the bargain bin. They were the vinyl ones, but they work great. I have two 56" and two 65". I have used all four at once at Sardis in 40mph gusts, and went .3-4. Cabelas called the 56" a 3x and the 65" a 4x.

I use 1" barge chains to drag. In my 1860 boat, 4 links which are 7"x4"each, will stop ya in 20mph wind. Had 6 links on em, and couldn't hardly pull em with the 80lb Terrova. I'm gonna cut one more link off and make it 3 links and then add a link at a time if the wind allows. That's the chain that Kent Driscoll uses. He has 3 links per side out on those two remote control anchor mates on the back of his boat.
