Rees, they weigh about a 'hunerd lbs. combined. I have not used them for anything but ballast since i bought my socks, and we've been in some ruff stuff. Ask ShineRunner if he thinks there be a difference between chains and socks.

Tru dat. But last time I tried to get this question figured out, the thread got locked. Glad this one is still rolling. The socks worked way better that day then the chain we were dragging. I was amazed how ya'll drug them thru the wood with no problems. We needed a bigger chain or two for that tank we were in, but I am pretty sure two XL socks would have let us fish more. I am looking for a deal on drift socks.

Them aint chains they anchors, mine aint near that heavy, wont stop me dead in 10 mph winds but will slow me to .2 or .3. Gonn get 2 more lengths to add to em.
