I launched at Engineers Point the other day then drove the boat to Holliday lodge area.....at a comfortable 30 mph it does not really take that long to get there.

Specifically thinking of Sardis. I launch from Engineer 100% of the time no mater where on the lake I am fishing but had the thought of using other ramps when I take my wife. She doesn't like to ride long and she doesn't like to go over 35mph so that really keeps me between clear creek and the dam. I notice a lot of you other guys put in at holiday or others and live up this way. So how and why do you choose?

I have spent most my life fishing........the rest I wasted.

The wind direction is the biggest factor to me. At a protected landing like Engineer's Point, it really doesn't matter though.

wind and cloest to the house ! cheap scape for sure .yamaha 25 can run all day on a gallon . f-150, not.
I always use Engineers with the big boat. If in the tin boat, depends on the wind. Ordinarily, I would tell ya to pull your big boy britches on and tell that woman how it's gonna be, but I have seen her and I have seen you...Best do as your told, you ain't gonna get that lucky again.![]()

Wind doesn't ever seem to be a factor for me but $$ just like yall is. Heck I don't even know how to get to any of the other rampsEngineer is the fastest and closest to the house. Guess I'll have to get the little honey more comfortable with a long ride

Yesterday at Holiday Lodge I was some 3 foot from shore when getting into the boat. The motor was in the air some, so backing off shore was a little tricky. And got sand and water in the boat when leaving shore. We had a channel to run through so not to get in shallow water. Which we did when returning. At 40 mph we had sand blowing in our faces. The water was lower when we returned. The boat was about 5 foot from shore.
If you left Engineers point and I left Holiday Lodge at the same time, You would be about or past Senatobia before I got to the Como exit. Hwy 310 and Tyro-Teckville rd have a few curves that I was taking at 25 mph.
I'm thinking that Engineers point is about 5 minutes more time traveled to where we were fishing.
