I made it down last month, and got set to buy my NR License online, but couldn't get a good enough connection to complete the transaction, so I hopped on the Scooter and headed to the Dam Store. The girl at the counter made the call and took care of getting my License for me. They didn't make a dime, and she didn't give an inkling it was any sort of bother for her to do so. I picked-up a handful of Cigars just so they could make something for helping me.
Shortly after, I realized I needed some gear (rods/reels), and they had no problem with letting me have my order shipped to their Store so I could pick it up. Not everyplace I've been in would be as helpful.
I've bought minnows there a few times, and though I didn't count, I don't believe I got a short count, and I'd been told they were cheaper than elsewhere nearby. I've got some in the bucket right now that are a week old, sure a few have died, but no more than expected.
I've had the pleasure to meet and speak with both Bill and Beth, both are very nice people. It seems like anywhere I've been, "convenience" generally comes with a slightly higher cost. As mentioned, you can't drive 20 miles for a few dz minnows and save anything. It's not an issue for me, but then again I don't fish as much or use as much bait as many of you, so I can see where you're coming from. It seems they're concerned with keeping customers satisfied, and are open to suggestions to do so. Can't ask for much more than that, and they can't fix it if they don't know it's broke.
I don't mind paying a little extra when it is to nice folks who go out of their way to help.
But that's just the ramblings of a danged Yankee Foreigner
