This brings back a memory that I treasure. I went tree-rat hunting with my wife to be's folks, killed a limit of delta squirrels with a rifle, all shot in the head I might add. These guys were good shots and wanting to impress them with my skills I was walking tall when I came into camp for lunch.
I was informed to put my bag over by the fire and Pap-Paw would tend to em, he didnt want anyone else cleaning em. Kinda sucked the air out of my sails but I did as told. Keepin an eye on Pap-paw he finally got to my sack of rats. He pulls out the first one, looks at it and throws it down, this continues throught he whole sack then threw the sack down on top of em and proclaimed "the whole damn mess of is ruined!!"
I didnt understand until I was told that all he really wanted was the brains and I had ruined all the ones I killed, he scolded me pretty hard once he found out who's they were. RIP Pap-Paw and thanks for the trip down memory lane.

    Nice shooting Tex!

No wolves in 'em? I was always told to wait till after the first good hard frost to go squirrell hunting.
My mom loves some fried squirrell and gravy. Gonna have to get her a few!
