    Mount it flat on the front of the trailer under your bow.....the bracket for this is not expensive and its made to put a lock on it.

    Mine used to mounted on the trailer and after fighting with on the side of the road,it is not going back.

    moved mine because the under the bow was a nightmare to get off due to whomever mounted it left off a part to keep it from messing up the threads . you can get the mount that i have from tractor supply . it is very durable and allows for a cable lock .
