Ok. I've done quite a bit of research for you, so you don't have to. It appears that the 1985 50hp Force may have been a terd. I found tons of thread on problems with them, and I couldn't find any in working order for sale, only motors being sold for parts.

So, if you have found one in decent condition, by all means go all in on it. That fella doesn't know what he has, so you better snatch it up quick! Don't cheap out either. I'd offer full price for that little gem

I agree ES. If it doesn't work out there's always someone around I could unload it on.
