Feesh, you and Don are showin me some stuff for sure. I've deep fried chickens and turkeys but what is this about the radient heat and no oil and where did you get that?I watch O'Neil Outside cook on a green egg and it looked great. He was grillin Bacon wrapped quail and made me real hungry.Watchin that grill all the time is a pain for sure Don, but we both know temp is the key in slow smokin.I have used lump charcoal several times and it don't make a whole lot of ash. It's good stuff! Thanks for yalls advise!

Man I get it right at 225, then check it about e very 45 minutes foir a couple hours and if it's still there, I go to bed. It'll still be there the next morning. I've had problems a time or 2 with the fire going out but not but a time or two.

It's called an oil less turkey fryer. You can buy them @ Academy Sports and other sporting goods stores for $100. - $120. I have cooked whole turkeys, chickens, and Cornish hens in mine. It has an element in the bottom, and basically roasts the bird
