It got pretty rough here......so far so good. I have not checked the roofs on all my buildings yet though.

Got a lot of wind and 1 1/2 rain in about a hour. No damage at the house but both roads out of here had big trees across them last night after storm passed.

Lightning hit our house last night. This is the second time in two years. First time was Over $26k of damage, this time just blew some electronics, thank goodness. I will be setting a 30' pole in the backyard and running #2 wire down it in hopes of creating the, mother of all, lightening rods. When that boom hit and we smelled that smell(you have to experience the smell) all I could see was $$$$ again. Blessed it was minimal this time.

2 years ago I was in Canada, talking to the daughter on the phone when it hit. Needless to say, I took a red eye home. When I got home I found a 7 foot hole in the roof. It hit the main beam and broke it. That's where the bulk of the damage came from. Had to totally remove the trusses and everything to get the main beam out and rebuilt bout 1/2 my roof structure. Blew a good chunk of bricks and sent them flying across our cove into the neighbors house. Cam in thru and alarm wire and ran to ground thru my 220 and kitchen circuit , successfully taking out all my appliances...ALL OF THEM. Took bout 3 months to totally get done. Was a total pain. Glad everyone came out of this one alright. But I'm serious bout the rod. Im not sure what's up with my house, but I aint chancing it again

Cat 1 passed last Thursady, 17" of rain in 5 hours, getting tired of it. Wished I was there where the weather is better.

Invested in a above ground shelter right after April 2011 rated for EF5. Had EF 3 pass 1 mile N of house in 2010, That was spooky. With me working 2 weeks away My wife needed a safe place to go into quick. Got Generac 13KW stand by generator for just in case wired into house, probably wouldn't be there if got direct hit so I keep a small gen. in shelter also. All I need now is a water well drilled and I'd be almost self sufficient. I'm not as brave as i once was, closet it good sometimes but have seen to many empty slabs after strong tornadoes. I'm glad to hear everyone made it through this wave ok though.
