    Maj, you must have a lemon. This is the 3rd 5.3 I've had since 2004 and they all got around 16-17 on the road. I even had a 6.0 in 2007 that got 15-16. I'd have yours looked at.

    My wife has a 2011 Tahoe with the 5.3 and its gets good milage too....My old 99 Z-71 had the 5.3 and it got just as good as my present truck. Individual driving habits have a lot to do with gas milage.
