So we make it to the lake and get the boats in the water with no problem. Go to one of my better spots and the gewber catches 5 and keeps 5 so I decide we will move on. Go to another spot and nuthin so we move on. Then we get to the last spot and nuthin spider riggin. So I decide to go old school on em and me and Gottabe head fer the Lilly pads. This is a patch of pads that I've caught em at before. As soon as we get there, I pull out the PST's with the slip cork and minner hooks and toss on in. It never slowed up. The cork instantly went under. Me and Gottabe sat there fer about 30 minutes and caught fesh as fast as we could drop a minner in. Sure there were several 10" fesh, but the boy was happy. At one time I heard him mumbling to himself, "Boy, I wished dad knew how to do this". So finally I ask him "Do ya wanna call your dad?" "NO" he said. Let em spider rig. Well He calls me and said I ain't doin nuthin are y'all? Yea WB we on em somewhat. Come on over. Gottabe said "why'd ya do that? They jus gonna come over here and mess us up."
We gotta let em in on the fun. So WB finally gets there and sees how we fishin and turns and heads back out to spider rig some more. After about 8 minutes of watchin us jerkin em in, he turns the ship around and comes back with some janky snap on round corks and a jig head rigged up. Well after seeing this, and running out of minners, I give Gonnabe my pole so he could catch some. It was obvious that this style of feshin was lower than his normal standards, but it was werkin. We sat there for about another 2 hours and caught fish. I'm guessin between the two boats, we caught over a hunnert fish without moving the boat. Occasionally we'd get a 13-14" fish, but most were in the 10-12" range. Jus good eating fesh. Anyhow we had a ball and there were no serious JADA acts on anybody's part. Until we left. Then Gonnabe made the call to eat at Taco Bell. He had some JADA in him for that call, but hey, to make a kid happy, we went there.
