No loose like a race car.
Doesn't blow out. The proper setting is 3.5 inches below the pad. It is 5 right now which is far from optimal.

If you lower the front of the boat down it will raise the rear of the boat giving you room for the jack. You are talking center of the prop on those measurements arent you.
Not every boat goes by what optima, BRM were talkin about props earlier and it may need some "CUP" in it. Take the prop on to Ed's before you do anything else and see what he says, you are going there anyways.
Moving them Batts to the front may solve your problem all by its self. I had an old Venture that would DANCE big time. Moved my batss to the front, even the cranking batt, and never put more than half tank of gas and it would FLY. 48 or so trimmed down and trimmed out low 60s, low 60s in a 15 foot glass boat can get scary.:yikes
Boy have it started a good one :D
The issue that I am having is directly related to the motor being too low. True it might get a bit edgy moving it up but I doubt it will be too bad and it will resolve the loose condition (which is running in a straight line and all by itself the rear end slides to the port side a bit). But we will see. Course this is what I get for being an obsessive hard headed hobbit:banghead:

You hat a steering cable issue me thinks, had the exact same thing going on last year. Being too low in the water should not do that I dont think. I am the same way tho, ifn the potential is there I want it doing it. Gonna be interesting what this hull I am workin with now does. Good luck, just be careful raising that motor that much at one time.
Mine was tite too, the new cable washer where you titen the big nut at the motor was not letting the nut titen down rite. Felt tite but it wasnt.
