Have some that have been on my poles for almost 4 years and not a problem with em yet. Also they have a line keeper on them, say if I am fishing real deep say 16 to 20 feet , once i catch a fish on them I can hook the line in the keeper and when I flip the bail it will automatically stop at that depth after reelin in a fish.
gdg, i thought about spinning reels..........but we keep out poles stowed in two pieces with the line wrapped around, and we keep them in a narrow rod box, up to 10 poles. using spinning reels, we would have a problem with the handles all locking together, plus more room the take up in the box on the handle end.
