Yeti coolers

I got the same one triton does and on my last trip to the coast i put 4 bags of ice in it friday n added each days catch to it. On sunday afternoon the ice had bearly melted at all. Its a 7 day cooler n out of tge 10ish coolers i have its by far the best at keeping ice.150 quart so it holds alot

Yea they are worth it. I use a 65qt to store my minnows in while in the boat. I drilled a hole in the top of it for my oxygen hose

Would the outside color of the cooler have an affect as to how long it will keep ice? Say an all white versus a white and blue bottom. White being the most reflective seems to me would stay cooler inside longer. Also, it seems that the old styrofoam cooler hold ice way long, if you could just manage to keep a lid on one more than a few minutes.That Yeti is an investment for sure!

I got a coleman extreme 5 years ago and was extremely pleased with it. I lost the top on Grenada lake somehow and replaced it with a new Coleman extreme 5, 52 quart. The new one is a little different, more insulation in the newer model. I put about 20 lbs of ice in it on monday and on thursday I am down to a few cubes of ice. Put in another 20 pounds on Thursday and my beer stays cold till Monday when I put more ice in it. I keep my cooler drained of water, because I do not want to keep water cold. I keep the cooler in the back of my truck in the direct sunlight all day. I paid 32.50 from Wal-Mart on line. I caught it on sale on the internet. Since I only paid 32.50 for the cooler I can ride it in the back of my truck and not worry. If I had a YETI the same size I would have to lock it down some way, because that would be a 350+ dollar cooler.
YETI is an excellent cooler. If you are on a long camping/huntingexpedition or on a canoe trip for a few days, it may be worth it. They are also extremely tough and rugged, but for the money I would get 5 Coleman extreme 5's, 1000 pounds of ice over time and take my old lady out for a good steak dinner and a movie and still have about 20 bucks left over in my pocket.

I usually carry 5 to 8lbs of bait when im fishing a tourny and the lid on the other brands of coolers will not seal completly and water will splash out during the day. On the Yeti coolers, the lid has a rubber seal around the inside of the lid that seals it shut so water dont get all over me and everything in my boat. That is a big plus.
