I propose a test, I'll go up and fish it. If I can catch a limit before dark, then it definitely needs closing.

I like to think if the regulations need to be changed due to the low water MDWHP would do so. I hope I'm right.
Personally I am avoiding the lake due to the difficultly of launching and navigating.

Good fisheries are just that and Butla is one of them, over fishing crappie is almost an impossible task. That lake was slammed harder last year than it has been this year and alot of folks were worried about it but it still produces. Have seen lakes dry up to almost nuthin thinking the fishing is ruined but the next spring the fish were there. Butla is on the rise, hopefully it will continue to do so.
Not where I am gonna fish due to the same reasons ATM has stated but find no fault in those who do. Whats winter pool and do we find fault with those that fish the lakes at winter pool??

Also in these low water conditions the boat limit should be 20per boat regardless of how many people in the boat.

Lake is 10 minutes from my house, but I'm not fishing. Don't need the meat and draggin' mud is no fun for a fat boy! Plus, shooting fish in a barrell is no fun to me. Heck the numbers of gar, big ole slimey blues and other trash fish make it too much work.

I'm more afraid of the lake turning over and killing all the fish. So, maybe it's a good thing all y'all are cullin' out all the fish. Less fish, better chance of survival for the rest.

I think I'm just gonna have to take a road trip. Come and catch me some Ar, Al, south 'sippi fish. Okatibbe and the rez are even looking good to me lately.
