It Is Amazing
Late yesterday afternoon I went by Grenada Landing on my way home, as I do most of the time, to see how many folks were on the water. 2 gentlemen from the were loaded up and getting ready to leave so I stopped to chat a minute or two. They had 7 keepers and you could tell they were cooked, said they caught a good many throw backs but only the 7 keepers. The conversation took an all too familiar turn, it was the Out-Of Staters fault that only the dinks are left in the Big 4, they came down this spring and caught all the keepers and went back up North and sold em.
I just listened and said well that oughta be against the law and he said IT IS!!!!
Here where the confusion set in, I may not be the best or even a good summer weather fisherman but I can hold my on in the spring , even when you are having to hunt fish I do OK. Are the Out-Of-Staters that much better than the locals???
I think not but human nature sets in and we want to blame smeone. I for one dont care what someone does with THEIR fesh, to me once they catch em and clean em they are theirs to do with as they see fit, I give away a bunch more than I eat, thats my business.
The continued gripe about Out-Of-State folks chaps me, if it werent from these folks we wouldnt have baits shops, they couldnt survive, and the guide business that has really picked up would be nill.
Anyway, was just letting yall know who's fault it was that we are catching all these shorts.
