Anyone been lately? Haven't been in 2 weeks and thinking about giving it a try in the morning...Going to be using the 798 for the first time and looking forward to it!

I went and pulled cranks twice recently. First trip we brought home 9 in around 3 hrs and probably caught around 10 gars. Second trip I had 3 keepers and probably caught 25 gars, lost 2 cranks on those beasts, and I was there for 7 hrs. SUCKED!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AND got myself gar bit by a 3 footer. Would've made a great episode of river monsters I tell ya

If your 798 picks up on a trail of 25 gars on the bottom, fish somewhere else

Dang dude you must be a gar magnet, think we only happened upon 1 of those. We ended up playing with the 798 and finding some Christmas trees in 10 ft of water, picked up 10 quick and then the wind blew us off and we never could quite get back on em. Ended up wearing some bass out and caught a 15 lb catfish.
