    Thats not a problem for me as I hit the reset button every time I reel in anyway......you get a more accurate reading on the line going out that way.

    do them things not back-lash all to heck? I aint never liked a bait-cast reel simply bc my thumbs are to dang fat to get in there and hold the line tight!

    Gator, do like I did. Take it off the rod, rear back and chunk it as far across Sardis as you can. Then order a new one. It's a lot more rewarding than dealing with customer service.
