New charger is installed and ginning

The nut does not have to be a perfect conductor......all it has to do is hold the battery cable end down tight against the battery post.....the actual connection is made between the battery post and the cable end or terminal. The nut really just holds those two things together tight. This is why the nut is better than a wing nut, it can be tightened tighter. I have stainless steel nuts on all of my boat batterys.

I've safety wired a lot of things but what are you going to safety wire the battery post nuts to ?

Never thought of that......but I would be afraid something might get a gainst the safety wire. I have never had any get loose anyway since I threw the janky wing nuts away and replaced them.
