I like the wang nuts personally. I can tighten them up just fine where they won;t move. You just don;t understand how little room I got to work in under the console. I can bearly get both hands in there
Perzackerly why u want to use nylocks ya Wang nut. Do it right the FIRST time. Prolly them wang nuts what rurnt to charger in da first place.

replace the wingnuts with nuts.........you cannot get the wingnuts tight enough
a good connection....you use a nut....thats what 95 of the boat shops recommend. wingnuts are junk

Guess it depends on if its steel or plated gold. Some metals carry current better than others. I use to not use wing nuts either, always used a lock nut. But then I saw a boat this guy had who I grew up fishing around and he showed me this set up I have used ever since. Some wing nuts are also thinner than others and can break even. Oh and if it says china on the package the metal is far less conductive than even American steel is. It will still conduct electricity don't get me wrong, but if you use gold or even platinum you get better contact and current rates. I aint a electrician, just what several have told me.
But if you don't use a lock washer the wing nut will back off on you from bumps and vibrations over time. Especially if the threads have some play in them.
