For deer i get a sock of soap, they smell people and they get scared. For crows or birds i use pie plates, they clang together and shine

About 30 inches off the ground. Tomato sticks work great. What I did after driving the stakes in the ground is; I got a piece of PVC about 18 inches long, ran the string through the pipe and tied it off to the first stake and walked to the second one, wrapped the string around it letting the string feed through the pipe as I did all this while holding the ball of string in the other hand. It should feed from the center of the ball of string. Ud b surprised how easy it is to walk along feeding the string and wrapping it around the stakes.
Thats how I used to do my tomatoes when I raised a lot, only come back up the same row and then I could keep the maters between the string and as they grew, add another row until u r out of stake. Usually 4 rows would hold the maters till they are grown. No tieing the individual plants as I would put a stake between every other plant.

I have plenty of kit string, got it on clearance at wallys years ago for 5 cent a roll. I'll make about 10 passes with it to get the size up.

I got the string out. Sat down on the deck with a pbr. I watch 8 deer walk close to the fence then out into the woods. Hope this works.
I found that Jerry Baker recipe. It's for moles, but it should work for any animal. Collect 1/2 gallon of piss, let it sit in the sun for a day, add water to full. In mole runs, dig and find tunnels. Add about 1 cup of mix both ways in runs and cover. I found other things for moles too.
Anyone remember the old Central Hardware stores? They had a product called Edge. It was a premix round-up, about the time we were hearing of round-up. It came in a gallon jug. You would remove the cap, take the seal out and replace the cap. The cap had holes in it. If you walked with jug about 3 foot high you would have a path on a chain link fence about 4 inches wide. So a few holes in a cap would be a good way to spray your stuff.
